Introduction

Grow Fit Fund (GFF) recognises the need to act responsibly towards our environment to ensure a better way of life for current and future generations.

Policy

1. GFF is committed to minimising its impact on the environment, fostering sustainability, repairing past harms and seeking improved future outcomes by the following.

2. We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure

2.1 We conserve energy by improving energy efficiency in our facilities. 

2.2 Our operations, events, services and products are efficient in their use of energy and protective of the environment.

2.3 We avoid the unnecessary purchase of materials.

2.4 When possible, we reuse and recycle materials, purchase recycled materials and use recyclable packaging or other similar materials.

2.5 In our activities, we act, as far as possible, to prevent or reduce air, water or other pollution and dispose of waste safely and responsibly.

2.6 That we give preference to renewable over non-renewable energy sources when feasible.

2.7 That we will consider any carbon-offsetting opportunities that may be available.

3. Grow Fit Fund will use reasonable endeavours to utilise our particular knowledge and experience to contribute to environmentally sustainable techniques, technology, knowledge and methods in our processes. In addition:

3.1 We will use reasonable endeavours to conduct audits and self-assessments of our compliance with this Policy in order to continually improve our environmental management system.

3.2 GFF and its management will maintain an open and honest dialogue with staff, customers, stakeholders and the community about the environmental sustainability performance of its operations and services.

3.3 GFF will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that staff, volunteers and suppliers are informed of and expected to follow (as the context requires) the Environmental Sustainability policy and to report any environmental concerns to management. Management will use reasonable endeavours to consider any reported concerns and take appropriate action as it sees fit.

3.4 GFF commits to using the fewest resources and causing the least amount of environmental harm.
